Student Chapter
The ITE Kentucky Section helps sponsor the ITE University of Kentucky Student Chapter. The student chapter meets and facilitates student interest in transportation engineering. Meeting topics include possible career paths, updates to transportation manuals, interesting transportation news, and much more. The student chapter also has the opportunity to participate in the Traffic Bowl competition each year.
Scholarship
The ITE Kentucky Section awards the William “Bill” Seymour Transportation Engineering Scholarship annually, granting $2,000 to a deserving student enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering program in Kentucky. Strong consideration will be given to applicants who demonstrate a clear commitment to Transportation Engineering through coursework and extracurricular activities. The recipient will be recognized at the ITE Kentucky Annual Meeting.
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be enrolled in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program in Kentucky, maintain full-time status throughout the academic year, be a student member of the section, and attend at least one regular section meeting and the Annual Meeting.

Traffic Bowl
The William H. Temple Scholarship Challenge Traffic Bowl was started in 2005 by the ABD to encourage student participation in the ITE Southern District. Teams of three students from each Section compete in a Jeopardy-style challenge. The answers and questions are based on transportation and traffic-related topics. Members of the winning teams receive scholarships sponsored by the ABD. The best and brightest students are chosen to represent the section at the ITE Southern District Annual Meeting each year.
2019 Traffic Bowl Team
Competing on April 2nd in Arlington, Virginia, our fantastic team dominated the competition and won both rounds!
In July, the team went on to the ITE International Traffic Bowl competition, where they came in second place!
